MTF Cooley Classic “Clark”

2010 / 17.0 hh ISH Gelding
Sire: Ars Vivendi / Dam: Josephines Fancy
Owner: Lucia Strini and Plain Dealing Farm Eventing

I wasn’t actually looking for a horse but when Connor Husain called and mentioned that Clark was for sale I lept at the opportunity. Clark was imported from Cooley Sporthorses by Connor and Morningside Training Farm and PDF Eventing purchased him in May of 2016 after he’d competed to the Training level. Clark is a big guy with tons of scope and talent, he’s one of the boldest cross country horses I’ve sat on and has been a joy to work with. He’s made the move from Training to 2* in the year that I’ve had him and we are all very excited for his future.

Clark had an easy 2018 while Lucia was pregnant and then adjusting to life as a mom! He was so happy to be back competing this past automn and we all think that 2019 is going to be a big year for this super horse!

Float On “Chloe”

2011/ 16.1hh KWPN Mare
Sire: Baltic VDL / Dam: Perlaine
Owner: Plain Dealing Farm Eventing

Chloe was purchased from Karl Slezak eventing who imported her in early 2017 from Fernhill Sporthorses. She competed in the 5-year-old Jumper classes in France as well as to the Training level with Karl in Florida. Chloe loves her job and gets up every day ready to work. She’s a fierce competitor with a fantastic jump who is just as pretty as she is talented!

2018 has been a huge year for Chloe! She completed her first CCI* at Bromont International in June, then successfully moved up to Intermediate in the fall, and completed her first CIC** at Virginia International in October! She has grown into a true cross country machine we are so excited to have this exceptional athlete in the barn.

Galway Bay Cooley “Colin”

2007 / 16.3 hh ISH Gelding
Sire: Dario / Dam: Quality Cruise
Owner: Plain Dealing Farm Eventing

Colin was imported from Ireland in 2012 during our very first horse sourcing trip with Richard Sheane of Cooley Sporthorses. He may be big, red and very weird but Colin is  incredibly talented and a favorite in the barn. Colin is a lovely mover with an effortless jump, he’s been produced slowly but shows so much promise and will surely make it to the upper levels of the sport.

Colin was competed by Will Coleman throughout 2017 and the beginning of 2018 while Lucia was pregnant and adjusting to life as a new mom. We're happy to have Colin back in the barn for the 2019 season!

Theo was imported from Cooley Sporthorses in the summer of 2014. Since then, he has progressed up through the CIC1* level while remaining the perpetual baby of the farm. Theo is one of the sweetest horses and loves to cuddle! He's an elegant mover and a fantastic jumper and a lovely horse to have in the barn.

Cooley For Keeps “Dawson”

2012 / 16.1 hh ISH Gelding
Sire: Pacino / Dam: America
Owner: Benita Strini and Plain Dealing Farm Eventing

Dawson was imported from Cooley Sporthorses in the Fall of 2016 as a green 4 year old with some Jumper experience. He’s a flashy, devilishly handsome boy who has the jump and movement to go all the way. Benita is bringing Dawson up the levels and he’s such an exciting prospect for PDF Eventing. In 2018, Dawson moved up from Novice level to Modified. Dawson is planning to move up to the Preliminary level in 2019 and will hopefully make his FEI debut soon!

Sire: Emerald Van’t Ruytershof / Dam: Cullen Aphila
Owner:  Benita Strini and Plain Dealing Farm Eventing

Another import from Cooley Sporthorses, James joined PDF Eventing in the summer of 2017. He’s got a big personality stuffed into a tiny package and some serious hops. Prior to coming to Richard’s yard he competed in the 3 and 4 year old Jumper divisions at the Dublin International Horse Show. He is a newcomer to the Eventing scene but has all the makings of being an impressive contender in the future.

JMF Master Cooley4

JMF Master Cooley “Cedric”

2009 / 16.2 hh ISH Gelding
Sire: Master Imp / Dam: Tuamgraney Diamond
Owner: Plain Dealing Farm Eventing and Robert Strini

Cedric was imported from Ireland through Cooley Sporthorses and is sired by Master Imp, one of the highest ranking stallions for producing upper level eventing progeny. He is extremely intelligent and loves to compete- he never tries hard until he's in the competition arena and then he really turns it on. His spirit animal is a “Marshmallow Peep Sports Car,” he prefers cool weather and you should never pick a fight with him because you will lose. Cedric has all the talent and breeding to be a top class competitor in the sport of cross country,  but until that exists he’s happy to excel in eventing.
